As experts in the plastic core industry, we're dedicated to helping customers just like you find plastic core solutions for your specific application. Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions:

  1. What are your minimum order requirements?
    We have no minimum order quantity requirements on any of our in-stock items. We allow you to order only as many cores as you need. You can even order a single piece if you need to. Our only requirement is that your order total is equal to or greater than $25.00. Learn more small orders here.
  2. What is your lead time?
    Our lead time to ship standard cores is 4-5 days. Lead time to ship standard samples and rush orders is same day or next day. The lead time for special core sizes, colors or certain secondary operations is 2-4 weeks.
  3. What forms of payment do you accept?
    We accept check, credit card, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and ACH. To apply for credit terms, simply fill out our credit application.
  4. What type of cores do you carry?
    We supply single-wall plastic cores in a variety of sizes and colors. Check out our products page for a listing of our in-stock items.
  5. What size cores do you carry?
    We supply cores ranging from 1" ID to 8" ID and in any wall thickness. Our standard, in-stock and most popular sizes are 1", 1.5", 1.75", 2", 3", 4" and 6" ID in various wall thicknesses. For more, check out our products page.
  6. What color cores do you carry?
    White is the most popular color. We also carry red, black and green as standard colors for some of our core sizes. We can provide color matching and can supply any color to meet your specifications. For more, check out our products page.
  7. Can I order samples to try?
    Yes, we offer free samples. Simply visit our request a sample page or contact us with your sample request.
  8. What plastic resins are used in making your cores?
    We can provide cores made from most plastic resins. Some common resins we offer as standard are polystyrene, ABS, polyethylene, PVC, HDPE and polypropylene. If you need a core made from a different resin, just ask!
  9. Do you make plastic tubing or other parts for other uses?
    No, our sole focus is on plastic cores and plastic core applications. This allows us to provide our plastic core customers with the specialized service and expertise Northcore is known for.
  10. We need tubing for an application that is not a core. Will your cores work for us?
    It's possible! Some of our largest customers use our plastic cores for non-core applications such as protective shipping sleeves. That's how versatile our plastic cores can be. We are happy to send you a free sample to try for any application.
  11. In addition to cutting cores, do you offer any additional services?
    Yes. We can do notching, taping or any operation that makes your cores more useful to you. To learn about our precision core cutting service, click here.
  12. How do I know what wall thickness to order?
    Contact us and we can help you determine the best wall thickness for your application. We can even send you a free sample to try in your particular application.
  13. Can your cores be recycled?
    Yes. The natural, uncolored cores are accepted in most plastic recycling operations in the U.S. and across the globe. If you have colored cores, simply send them back to us and we will recycle them for you!
  14. Will your cores work in our reuse or WIP program?
    Depending on your application, our plastic cores can be reused again and again. If you have a question about reusing your cores, just contact us.
  15. Can I ship your cores overseas?
    We are a global supplier and ship plastic cores around the world. Our customers also ship finished products containing our cores overseas. It is recommended to check with the destination country regarding PVC cores, however. Contact us to learn more.
